Efficiency Guidelines:

• The European A++ rating is a good benchmark for appliances best suited for renewable energy applications. Any good salesman should be able to provide the information.
• The energy which is consumed by an appliance over a 24 hour period should be established.
• Replace incandesant light bulbs with energy efficient alternatives. Outside light bulbs should contain daylight sensors.
• Manage power by means of relays and timers for internal load-shedding to lengthen autonomy during unfavourable conditions. Be aware of the number of appliances that consume unecessary power during "standby" mode.
• Use energy sparingly and save power for a rainy day
